BIO

Eduardo Infantes OanesI am Eduardo Infantes Oanes and I currently live in Sweden. I am a marine biologist and underwater photographer. I grew up in the beautiful island of Lanzarote, in the Canary Islands, where my passion for marine life begun. I studied a BSc degree in Environmental Analysis and a MSc degree in Applied Marine Science in the United Kingdom. I have a PhD on Biology where I studied interactions between seagrasses and fluid dynamics at the University of the Balearic Islands while based at IMEDEA (UIB-CSIC). I currently have a researcher position at the University of Göteborg, in Sweden. My scientific work is available in Research Gate and Mendeley websites.

I like to shot wide angle photographs working with people doing different activities in the water like scuba diving, working, snorkelling, fishing, etc. Also like to take photographs of marine life and marine environments. I recently started to work with models in swimming pools and in the sea. My current photograph collection was taken in locations such as Canary Islands, Red Sea, US, Balearic Islands and Galápagos Islands.

Eduardo Infantes OanesPHOTOGRAPHIC EQUIPMENT

My current system is a Nikon D90 in an Ikelite Housing and an Ikelite DS161 strobe. My favourite lenses are a wide angle Sigma 10-20mm, a macro Nikkor 105mm and a versatile Nikkor 18-105mm. Depending on which lens I am using, I will fit a 8′ dome or a flat port in the housing. In specific ocasions I use a compact Canon G11 in a Canon housing. My first camera was an Olympus C5060 in an Olympus PT20 housing and a Epoque flash and I have to say that it performed nicely during many years.
